Cassy Lyn Holcomb, 29, 607 N. Pine St., was charged 2:15 p.m. Wednesday at her residence on a Union County warrant for aggravated assault. Brian Keith Andre Whitfield, 32, 607 N. Pine St., was charged 5 p.m. Wednesday at his residence on Union County warrant for domestic assault, two counts of willful injury and probation violation.

According to a Creston Police report, a domestic assault occurred between Whitfield and Holcomb, 9:30 p.m. Dec. 14. Upon arrival, officers met with Holcomb who stated she and Whitfield got into a fight. During the fight, Whitfield took Holcomb to the ground with his hand and punched her in the left side of her face and left a large scratch mark on the back of her neck. Photos were taken of visible bruises to Holcombs arms. Whitfield had left the scene before officers arrived. Officers were unable to locate him.

On Monday, at least two people went to the residence of Holcomb and Whitfield to check on the welfare of other people within the home. According to Creston Police reports, Holcomb used a pipe to hit one person and Whitfield attacked two people with some type of sharp object causing both victims to have stitches on their face. The attack was unprovoked as the parties attacked were only there to check on the welfare of others.
