According to a Creston Police report, a domestic assault occurred between Whitfield and Holcomb, 9:30 p.m. Dec. 14. Upon arrival, officers met with Holcomb who stated she and Whitfield got into a fight. During the fight, Whitfield took Holcomb to the ground with his hand and punched her in the left side of her face and left a large scratch mark on the back of her neck. Photos were taken of visible bruises to Holcombs arms. Whitfield had left the scene before officers arrived. Officers were unable to locate him.

On Monday, at least two people went to the residence of Holcomb and Whitfield to check on the welfare of other people within the home. According to Creston Police reports, Holcomb used a pipe to hit one person and Whitfield attacked two people with some type of sharp object causing both victims to have stitches on their face. The attack was unprovoked as the parties attacked were only there to check on the welfare of others.

Unable to locate Whitfield, a search warrant was issued to search the home for Whitfield who was later found barricaded in the attic. State patrol tactical team was called in to tear gas an uncooperative Whitfield out of the attic. After Whitfield resisted the tear gas and remained in the attic, officers made entry into the attic through a window at which point Whitfield exited on his own accord.

Whitfield is being held on $10,000 bond for the charges of domestic assault and probation violation and no bond on two counts of willful injury. Holcomb is being held on $2,000 bond.

Lacey Ann Moore, 603 S. Maple St., reported a rock had been thrown through the window of her motor vehicle while it was parked in an alley at her residence.
