Dennis Hunter West Yellowstone, Mont.

Dennis Hunter, 61, of West Yellowstone, Mont., formerly of Lorimor, died Dec. 30, 2012, at his home in West Yellowstone, Mont.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the United Methodist Church in Lorimor. The Rev. Joel Sutton will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are yet to be determined. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Dennis Allen Hunter, son of Della Marie (Stephens) and Kenneth Ray Hunter, was born May 22, 1951, in Winterset.

He attended East Union High School and graduated in 1969. He was active in 4-H while he was in school, both on the local and state levels.

Dennis continued his education at the University of Iowa, earning a bachelor’s degree in social work and later a master’s degree in business management at Baker University.

After finishing college, Dennis worked in hotel management in Kansas City, Mo.

Dennis was active in the Methodist Church.

Later he moved to Moab, Utah, where he was a manager of a ranch resort, then moved to West Yellowstone, Mont., where he worked as a director of sales.

Dennis is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Della Hunter of Lorimor; daughter Dora (husband Carlo) Panlilio of Rockville, Md.; sons, Henry Hunter of Kansas City, Mo., and Winston and Stuart Hunter, both of Kansas City, Kan.; sister Diann (husband Bryan) Patterson of Chandler, Ariz.; and nieces, Brianna (husband Tyler) of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Heather Patterson of Manhattan, Kan.
