Scroggie’s 34 fuels Mustangs to win over Bulldogs

ORIENT — Fans attending Thursday night’s boys basketball game between Orient-Macksburg and Murray who knew the visiting Mustangs featured a player nearing 2,000 career points might have thought that player was senior Cody Scroggie.

Scroggie effortlessly put up 34 points to lead the Mustangs to a 65-31 win over Orient-Macksburg.

But it was Austin Halls who entered the game as the Mustang player needing just 20 points to reach 2,000 points for his career. Halls finished the game with 14 points, setting up the potential for a special moment during Murray’s big conference matchup tonight against Moulton-Udell.
