Wanda Hood, 90, of Plymouth, Minn., recently of Creston, died Dec. 25, 2012, at North Memorial Hospice in Brooklyn Park, Minn.
Private family graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Visitation with family present will be 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Powers Funeral Home, junctions of highways 25 and 34, Creston. Memorials may be directed to Highland Highlights 4-H Club. Wanda Jean Johns, daughter of Marie (Arbuckle) and Arthur B. Johns, was born Dec. 10, 1922, in Villisca.
Wanda graduated from Creston High School in 1940.
On Jan. 6, 1942, Wanda married Dale Fredrick Hood in Albany, Mo.
They settled in the Creston area and farmed southeast of Creston until their retirement in 1990, when they moved into a home in Creston.
Wanda was a homemaker.
Wanda is survived by her sons, Stephen (wife Miyoko) Hood of Leesburg, Va., and Chris (wife Melissa) Hood of Plymouth, Minn.; grandchildren, Mark, Emily, Michael, Benjamin and Allison Hood; great-grandchildren, Kayliana, Natalie and Elliot; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband in December 2008.
