“We’ve had terrific response, not just locally but from the extended region, you know, people are coming quite a ways for this,” Snodgrass said. “It’s been exciting to see the response and, you know, we’ll continue to offer it as long as people are interested in participating.”

Currently the southwestern region of Iowa is without flu vaccines, and according to Snodgrass, Polk County is the closest location for one. Snodgrass and the registered nurses said covering your cough, containing the germs by staying home and cleaning your hands are the best ways to prevent spreading the flu. They also recommend getting the flu vaccine in the fall when supplies are not limited.
