Nodaway Valley 67, Albia 41

GREENFIELD – Nodaway Valley used a 28-6 second quarter advantage to take control in a 67-41 win over Albia here on Saturday.

The win improved Nodaway Valley to 12-0 for the season, guaranteeing the program’s 19th consecutive winning season.

Senior Alex Welsch recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Brad Baudler led the Wolverines with 22 points while also holding Albia’s leading scorer Matt Baker to just two points. Baker averages more than 20 points per game this season.

TJ Bower added 12 points and four rebounds with two steals.

“Albia was a quality team,” head coach Darrell Burmeister said. “Another good night for defense for NV, and a nice run at the end of the second quarter. Brad had a good game at both ends, holding their leading scorer to two points.”

Murray 74, Seymour 23

SEYMOUR – Murray cruised to a 74-23 win over Seymour here on Friday, leading 48-11 at halftime.

The win improves the Mustangs to 14-0 for the season.

Cody Scroggie led Murray with 16 points, adding five steals and four assists. Austin Halls chipped in 12 points with eight assists and six steals. Eddie Otto also scored in double figures with 11 points.

Pat Kilmer added nine points and four rebounds off the bench. Matt Johnston and Andrew Rider each scored six points.

“We really played around with different lineups tonight, mixing young guys and older guys,” head coach Darin Wookey said. “It was a good game to give the young guys work. Pat Kilmer and Cody Scroggie had nice games for us tonight, and Eddie Otto was solid from long distance as well.”

East Union 52, SE Warren 48

AFTON – East Union used a balanced scoring effort in a 52-48 win over Southeast Warren here on Friday.

A 21-9 run in the third quarter proved crucial to the Eagles’ victory.

Sean Schmitz, Trevor Barnett and Jesse Akers each scored 11 points to lead the Eagles. Dustin Hoyt added eight points and Cole Campbell scored six points.

Akers pulled down 10 rebounds to record a double-double, while Hoyt added seven rebounds. Barnett collected three steals and dished out two assists. Campbell and Hoyt tied for the team lead with three assists each.
