“We came out and played pretty good basketball, limiting ourselves to only six team turnovers and shooting good free throws with 71 percent,” head coach Craig Ditzler said. “But, we still need to focus on shooting from the field.”

Diagonal 55, Mormon Trail 42

GARDEN GROVE – Diagonal improved to 7-6 for the year with a 55-42 win over Mormon Trail here on Friday.

Sophomore Blake Butler led the way with 22 points, while also grabbing six rebounds with two steals and two assists.

Junior Ryan Parrott added 15 points and 11 rebounds to record a double-double. Shad Haidsiak added nine points and four rebounds, while freshman Jacob Taylor netted six points with 11 rebounds and seven assists.

Lenox 57, Wayne 45

CORYDON – Caleb Lange recorded a double-doubles in a 57-45 Lenox win over Wayne here on Friday.

Lange led the Tigers with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while also recording six steals. Mason Peterson added 10 points and seven rebounds to go with six steals and five assists.

Frank Martinez also reached double figures for Lenox, netting 13 points, including three 3-pointers. Spencer Brown chipped in nine points and seven rebounds, while Todd Stoaks grabbed 10 boards to go with two points.

“We were very happy with our defense, especially in the first three quarters,” co-head coach Jesse Cox said. “Our kids rebounded well, also – that is always a plus. Lange led us with a double-double, Martinez’s 3-pointers were big, and Peterson and Lange with six steals each helped the cause.”

GVPB 68, Orient-Macks. 26

ORIENT – Grandview Park Baptist got out to a hot start in a 68-26 win over Orient-Macksburg here on Friday.

Grandview Park Baptist held a 30-7 lead after the first quarter, and led 43-17 at halftime.

Jesse Johnson led the Bulldogs with six points, while Chantz Davidson added five. Tyrell Stucker, Jacob Caviness and Tom Walter each added four points. Jordan Thompson chipped in three points.

The Bulldogs return to action tonight against Paton Churdan.

Pleasantville 72, Corning 12

CORNING – Pleasantville bolted out to an early lead and never looked back in a 72-12 win over Corning here on Friday.
