Creston youth wrestlers second at state dual tournament

KNOXVILLE — A team from Creston placed second at the Iowa State Youth Dual School Division tournament here on Jan. 6.

The team went 4-1 on the day, losing to Norwalk 37-22 in the finals.

The Panthers opened the day with a 37-20 win over Van Meter, followed by a 33-30 win over Grinnell. Creston defeated Southeast Warren 41-26 in the third round and received a bye in the fourth round.

Creston defeated Dallas Center-Grimes 51-18 in the fifth round before falling to Norwalk in the finals.

Three Creston wrestlers received All-State honors — Kolby Hulett, Kaden Hulett and Chase Schiltz.
