Actual art goes virtual at Creston Restored Depot

An interactive, digital kiosk will soon showcase artwork done by Southwestern Community College students at the Creston Restored Depot.

At Tuesday’s regularly scheduled Creston City Council meeting, a resolution was offered by Councilwoman Terri Koets and seconded by Councilwoman Betty Shelton to approve a lease agreement between SWCC and the city of Creston for use of the Creston Restored Depot’s Memorial Room to install the art gallery kiosk.

The interactive digital display features a podium that supports a 32-inch liquid-crystal display to showcase student art and 19-inch touch screen mounted in landscape mode for users to interact with the application. The proposed art gallery kiosk is similar, if not identical, to the display that currently stands within the main hallway of the instructional center at SWCC.
