Melcher-Dallas 25

MURRAY — Murray girls took a 17-5 lead in the first quarter on the way to sailing past Melcher-Dallas, 50-25, in the Bluegrass Conference girls tournament consolation game Saturday.

“I thought our defense did a good job of shutting down MacKenzie Suntken and Lezi Crozier,” said Murray coach Jerry Shields. Suntken scored one point and Crozier was held scoreless.

Kate Patton had 12 points, four assists and colected 14 of Murray’s 25 steals in the game. Courtney Siefkas had 10 points and five steals. Megan Oswald contributed nine oints, eight rebounds and five steals.

Murrahy, now 13-3, hosts Lamoni in the final conference game on Tuesday. Melcher-Dallas fell to 4-10.

SE Warren 60, Lenox 46

LIBERTY CENTER — Lenox fell behind 13-0 in the 14-point Pride of Iowa Conference defeat Friday.

“We did a very poor job of boxingt out in the first half,” said Lenox caoch Mandy Stoaks. “We shot 45 percent from the field, but didn’t take care of the ball so we could shoot more.”

Aurora Arevalo led Lenox with 17 points and six rebounds. Kate Dukes had 13 points and nine rebounds. Madison Douglas chipped in six points and five assists, and Taylor Foster finished with six points and seven steals.

ICA 44, O-M 28

WEST DES MOINES — Iowa Christian Academy pulled away from a 20-16 halftime lead to outscore Orient-Macksburg 20-2 in the third quarter and sew up the conference victory.

Anna Agardh led the winners with 12 points and Morgan Phipps had 11.

Gabby Jennkins had a double-double for O-M with a game-high 14 points and 10 rebounds. Shyla Waldhauser had seven points and Shannon Eads totaled five points and seven rebounds.

Central Decatur 45, Nodaway Valley 30

GREENFIELD — Poor shooting and turnovers were too much to overcome for the Nodaway Valley girls, outrebounded 32-18 by Central Decatur, now 13-2 overall and 10-1 in the Pride of Iowa Conference.

Nodaway Valley fell to 10-5 and 8-3. Shelby Venteicher had 13 points for NV and Christine Gross added seven points. Sydney Reeves hauled in a team-high nine rebounds while scoring four points.
