Rosalie Denton read the winter president’s letter from Barbara Moore to the chapter, wishing a happy new year full of exciting challenges and successes.

Jean Paul presented the program for Founder’s Day.

The next regular meeting will be Feb. 5 at the Christian Church with Irene Francis as hostess and Lori Scott as cohostess.

The birthday luncheon will be Feb. 12 at Adams Street Espresso.

P.E.O. Chapter AZ

The regular business meeting of P.E.O. Chapter AZ was held Nov. 7 at Van Gelder Clothing with Judy Woods and Chris Van Gelder as hostesses. The meeting was conducted by the president, Karla Hynes. Twenty-three members were present.

An invitation was received from Chapter LG to a fundraising auction Nov. 13 at Salem Lutheran Church. Sandy McNichols said today (Nov. 7) was Margaret Weisshaar’s 101 birthday and members should send cards.

Hynes moved the chapter be Emma Johnson’s sponsor as she applies for the P.E.O. Star Scholarship. Christy Whited seconded the motion, and the voice vote was pro. Johnson’s great-grandmother, grandmother, mother and sister are P.E.O. members.

Sharon Bennett gave the program on projects. Through P.E.O. projects, millions of dollars are avaiable to women to continue their educations.

The last regular meeting was Dec. 4 at Salem Lutheran Church.

Super 8 Card Club

Super 8 Card Club met Jan. 17 at Regency Park center.

High was Lee Fresh; second high was Beulah McDonald and low was Leta Larkin.

The next meeting will be Feb. 21 with Lee Fresh as hostess at the center.

Creston United Methodist Women

The first meeting of the New Year for Creston United Methodist Women was the executive meeting held Jan. 3. Jerrie Henderson, president, conducted the business.

On Jan. 13, members of United Methodist Women led the worship services with the theme “The Journey of United Methodist Women.”

Circle meetings were held at the church Jan. 17.

The morning circle met at 9:30 a.m. with Velma Riegel as hostess. Chairperson Susan Weight conducted the business meeting. Eleven members were present. Plans for the public dinner to be served Feb. 17 were discussed. The circle will be hostesses for the guest night scheduled for April 4.
