Murray School should consider penny sales tax

It was nice to read about the Murray School District’s renovation project.

I didn’t see it mentioned in the article, but I wonder if they’ve considered the penny sales tax they are entitled to? Even if they do not have significant businesses in Murray to collect that extra penny, I understood that sales tax revenues were totaled on a countywide basis and then distributed per capita according to school district needs. If I’m right, this funding source could be very helpful to property owners. If I’m wrong? Well ... you didn’t hear it from me.
