Regional dual

Creston will host Class 2A Regional Dual State first-round matches on Feb. 5.

On that night, boys JV and varsity basketball games against Clarinda will be played at Southwestern Community College, with JV starting at 6 p.m. There will not be a ninth-grade game played that night.

YMCA basketball

Southern Prairie YMCA is offering youth basketball for boys and girls in Pre-K through fourth grade.  The program will be Saturday mornings in February in the Southern Prairie YMCA gym.

Cost varies by age and membership type and includes a basketball.  Registration deadline is Friday Jan. 25 at Southern Prairie YMCA or you can register your child online at www.southernprairieymca.com.

“Y basketball camp is a positive, fun activity that builds athletic, social and interpersonal skills,” a YMCA spokesman said.  Participants will take part in skill development activities, drills and scrimmages in a group setting.
