Nodaway Valley 115, Corning 24
CORNING — Nodaway Valley scored a season-high 115 points, including a 74-8 lead at halftime, in rolling past the Red Raiders Tuesday night.
Brad Baudler shot 5-of-6 from 3-point range in outscoring Corning by himself with a 29-point effort for the Wolverines (15-1). Also scoring in double figures were T.J. Bower with 12 and Dan Ehrsam 11. Thirteen Nodaway Valley players scored at least three points.
NV shot 16-30 on 3-pointers as nine different players made 3-point baskets. Bower had seven assists, seven steals and three assists in a big overall game, and Ehrsam turned in eight assists and three steals.
“Our guys shot the ball extremely well and our bench played well — 49 of the 115 points came from the bench,” NV coach Darrell Burmeister said.
Keegan Longabaugh scored nine points with three assists for Corning (1-15) and Nick Spring added six points. Spring grabbed four rebounds and Quintin Wilcoxsin grabbed three while scoring four points.
“Nodaway Valley showed why they are near the top of the rankings in 2A,” Corning coach Pete Nett said. “We had actually been having more success breaking other team’s pressure packages the past few games, but their press rally gave us fits. We had some success stuffing the ball inside to our posts, but we didn’t get to the free throw line nearly as much as we needed to tonight.”
Mount Ayr 44, Bedford 43
MOUNT AYR — Isaac Weed’s 3-point shot at the buzzer fell short as Bedford’s upset bid was thwarted against Mount Ayr in a Pride of Iowa Conference battle Tuesday.
Bedford (5-10) was playing without two starters, including leading scorer Noah Thornton, and had lost by 40 earlier this season to the Raiders (11-5).
The Raiders led by eight after three quarters. Bedford’s Kolten Sefrit scored 13 points in the fourth quarter, including three 3-pointers. Sefrit’s triple tied the game at 40, but Mount Ayrt’s Braydee Poore scored the next four to give the Raiders a two-possession lead.
Poore led Mount Ayr with 13 points. Sefrit finished with 24 for Bedford. Jake Still was limited to six points.
Exira/EHK 70, Orient-Macks. 46
ELK HORN — Chantz Davidson scored 12 points for Orient-Macksburg in a 70-46 loss to Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton Tuesday night.
Jordan Thompson added nine points and Jesse Johnson and Jacob Caviness each had eight for the Bulldogs, who host Diagonal Thursday.

DIAGONAL — Spencer Brown led three Tigers in double figures with 21 points and eight rebounds as Lenox defeated Diagonal Monday, 61-52.
Lenox led 31-24 at halftime.
Caleb Lange had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Mason Peterson finished with 13 points and five assists. Todd Stoaks collected six rebounds. Lenox, (8-7) was 19-of-28 at the free throw line.
“It was good energy from both teams all night,” said Lenox co-coach Jesse Cox. “We got ahead early and stayed there. Our kids hit big shots and we were especially good at the free throw line. Spencer Brown had a great game, very productive.”
Shad Haidsiak had a team-high 16 points with five rebounds and two steals for Diagonal (8-9). Levi Jarred had nine points; Ryan Parrott totaled eight points, seven rebounds and three assists; Heath Evans had eight points and six rebounds; and Jacob Taylor totaled five points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists.
