CORNING — Marie Palmer had 16 points, 11 rebounds and two steals to lead Corning past Nodaway Valley in Pride of Iowa Conference play Tuesday.

Ella Akin had 15 points and seven rebounds, scoring 11 of her points in the fourth quarter, as Corning improved to 6-11. Paige Jessen shot 3-5 from the 3-point arc in scoring nine points. Marissa Drake and Tiffany Shepherd came off the bench for some key defensive contributions, coach Julie Krauth, co-head coach.
