Elizabeth Olson and Derek Quam, both of Ames, announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

Olson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Olson of Iowa City. She graduated from Iowa City High School in 2003 and is currently a student at Iowa State University, majoring in linguistics.

Quam is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Denny Quam of Creston. He is a 2002 Creston High School graduate and graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor of architecture. He is employed at Haila Architecture and Structure Planning in Ames.
