Bird charged with attempted murder

William Michael Bird turned himself in to authorities at the Union County Law Enforcement Center 2:22 a.m. today.

Bird, 20, 1101 E. Summit St., was charged 2:22 a.m. today on three Union County warrants for first-degree burglary, domestic abuse and attempted murder.

According to a Creston Police report, Bird went to a residence at 705 West Montgomery Street at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and an argument occurred between Bird and a female victim who is the mother of his child. During the argument, Bird struck the female victim in the face and attempted to strangle her.

At 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, Bird forcibly entered the residence at 705 West Montgomery Street and threatened and struck the occupant, inflicting bodily injury. At 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Bird stabbed the female victim in the chest with a knife with the intent to kill her.

Bird’s bond is $50,000 for attempted murder and $2,000 bond each for first-degree burglary and domestic assault.
