Mabel McCutchan Independence, Mo.

Mabel A. Eckles McCutchan, 96, of Independence, Mo., formerly of Creston, died Jan. 20, 2013.

Cremation with burial will be at a later date. Speaks Funeral Chapel, Independence, Mo., is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.speakschapel.com.

Mabel McCutchan was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Union County.

Mabel graduated from Lenox High School.

Mabel was a nurse’s aide at Greater Community Hospital in Creston for more than 20 years.

Mabel was past president of Eagles Women’s Auxiliary in Creston.

Mabel is survived by her daughter Diane McLaughlin of Independence, Mo.; son Charlie (wife Barbara) Eckles of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; sister Elizabeth (husband Don) Brooks of Marana, Ariz.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and six great-great-children.

Mabel was preceded in death by her husband Edward Eckles; son David Eckles and brother Kenneth Schofield.
