Antoinette ‘Net’ Van Gelder Lenox

Antoinette “Net” Van Gelder, 88, of Lenox died Jan. 22, 2013, at Lenox Care Center.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the United Presbyterian Church in Lenox. Interment will be in North Fairview Cemetery in Lenox. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. service time Saturday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.ritchiefuneralhome.com.


Antoinette Vander Vegte, daughter of Grace (Schottert) and Dick Vander Vegte, was born April 17, 1924, in Hull.

She was raised in Hull until 1937, when her family moved to Orange City.

On  Feb. 14, 1952, Antoinette married Dick Van Gelder in Orange City.

Antoinette and Dick made their home in Wisconsin for many years.

In 1975, they moved to the rural Lenox area to farm.

Antoinette is survived by her husband Dick E. Van Gelder of Lenox; children, Darwin (wife Lanor) Van Gelder of Eau Claire, Wis., Rodney (wife Ginger) Van Gelder of Holland, Mich., Jean (husband Wayne) Tjarks of Holland, Mich., Terry Van Gelder of Escondido, Calif., Paul (wife Leesa) Van Gelder of rural Lenox and Chuck (wife Rachelle) Van Gelder of rural Lenox; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Antoinette was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Herman, Ed, Henry, Gerrit, Dick, Johanna, Henrietta, Minnie and Gertrude.
