Nodaway Valley 63, Wayne 32

GREENFIELD — Nodaway Valley got out to a good start and finished strong in a 63-32 win over Wayne here on Friday, staying alone in third place in the Pride of Iowa Conference standings.

The Wolverines improved to 11-6 overall and 9-4 in conference play with the win.

Sydney Reeves scored a team-high 18 points with 10 rebounds and three assists for the Wolverines. Jessica Nelson scored 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting, while Josie Carter added nine points with five rebounds and three assists.

Shelby Venteicher added four points, five rebounds and six assists, while Christine Gross scored four points with three assists. Emily Schildberg added six points.

“Nodaway Valley looked like a different team tonight,” head coach Tom Thompson said. “We ran the floor well, good passing —23 assists on 29 made baskets — and much more aggressive style of play.”

Lenox 55, Pleasantville 48

LENOX — Aurora Arevalo and Katie Dukes each had big games as Lenox picked up a 55-48 win over Pleasantville here on Friday.

Arevalo led the team with 21 points while also recording three blocks and nine rebounds. Dukes recorded a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds, while finishing with seven steals.

Sydney Barker added seven points as Kara Henrichs finished with six points and four assists. Madison Douglas scored four points and Ashley Heston added two.

“A total team effort,” head coach Mandy Stoaks said. “Balanced scoring and great defense all night long.”
