Diagonal 68, Moravia 24
MORAVIA — Diagonal took control early in a 68-24 win over Moravia here on Friday.
Four Maroon players scored in double figures in the win, led by junior post player Ryan Parrott, who scored 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting with three rebounds. Blake Butler netted 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting with four assists and three steals.
Shad Haidsiak added 11 points with five rebounds and three assists, while Levi Jarred scored 10 points off the bench with three rebounds.
As a team, the Maroons shot 53.7 percent from the field.
Freshman Jacob Taylor scored three points and collected five rebounds with four assists and seven steals for Diagonal, now 10-9 for the season.
Pleasantville 60, Lenox 59
LENOX — Pleasantville held on to win a wild, 60-59 game against Lenox here on Friday.
Lenox held a 22-20 lead after the first quarter, but Pleasantville came back to take a 40-32 lead into halftime. The Tigers closed the game to 48-45 heading into the fourth quarter, but came up just one point short in the comeback attempt.
“What a game, back and forth all night,” Lenox co-head coach Karl Peterson said. “Both teams could not miss the first half, but the defenses improved in the second half.”
Caleb Lange led the Tigers with a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds, while Mason Peterson scored 14 points with nine assists. Todd Stoaks scored six points with 10 rebounds.
Spencer Brown added six points, while Frank Martinez and Caleb Cline each scored five points.
Lenox falls to 9-8 overall and 6-7 in the Pride of Iowa Conference.
Mount Ayr 45, Chariton 39
MOUNT AYR — Three Mount Ayr players in double figures led the Raiders to a 45-39 win over Chariton here on Monday, as the Raiders came from behind n in the fourth quarter.
Braydee Poore and Jake Still each scored 15 points and John Triggs added 12 points for Mount Ayr.
Triggs led the way with eight rebounds while Poore and Still each grabbed seven boards. Still added four assists and three blocks.
Austin Quick was the only other Raider to score, netting three points.
Glidden-Ralston 52, Orient-Macks. 38
ORIENT — Orient-Macksburg held a lead after the first quarter, but couldn’t sustain it in a 52-38 loss to Glidden-Ralston here on Monday in a makeup game.
Jordan Thompson and Chantz Davidson each had good offensive games, scoring 14 and 12 points, respectively. James Sullivan and Jacob Caviness each scored four points. Seth White added three points and Jesse Johnson scored one point.
