Find ‘something new’ at bridal show

VanGelder Clothing, 110 N. Maple St., offers a selection of men's formal wear and colors for ties, vests and cumberbuns for weddings, special occasions and cruises. VanGelder Clothing is sponsoring a bridal show 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday where residents can shop and collect ideas for their next special event.

Planning the perfect wedding can be a daunting task. It doesn’t have to be.

Chris VanGelder, owner of VanGelder Clothing is sponsoring a bridal show 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Supertel Inn and Conference Center.

“I’ve been to shows, hosted shows and just really wanted to put one together,” said VanGelder.

The bridal show will help brides to be find essential wedding services while encouraging residents to shop local.

Some of the featured vendors are Upper Crust Bakery, Jensen Event Rentals, Kelly’s Floral, Teresa’s Fine Floral, Tuxedos by VanGelder Clothing, photography by Heidi Crawford, The Sheer Shop, Fudgetown Interiors and Pampered Chef for shower and registry ideas and Supertel for venue info.

VanGelder seeks to work with other vendors to cross promote local businesses.

“I try to advertise for other places so people can get ideas and know of other places to go,” said VanGelder. “It will be a great way for the brides and grooms to start preparing for the big day.”

The bridal show isn’t just for brides. VanGelder Clothing offers year-round tuxedo and suit rentals. The show will offer an opportunity for men to browse the large selection of colors and patterns for ties, cumberbuns and vests.

“We do measuring free of charge for guys for prom and weddings,” said VanGelder. “We have people from Lenox that do special events throughout the year and might need a tuxedo. We can order them at any time.”
