Party in the Park line up announced

You may know this year’s Party in the Park headliner for his famous kin, but Jimmie Van Zant’s southern rock stylings have made him a success in his own right.

From the age of 6, Van Zant’s home was filled with music. His mother, who played gospel songs on the family’s upright piano, encouraged Van Zant to learn piano and guitar. His inspiration only grew as his cousin Ronnie Van Zant used the family’s living room as a rehearsal space for the band later known as Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Fast forward three albums and five decades later, Van Zant and his band play festivals averaging crowds of more than 5,000 and have songs streaming the air waves nationwide.
