Youth ice fishing clinic Feb. 9 at Green Valley

A youth finishing clinic will be presented Feb. 9 at Green Valley State Park northwest of Creston.

Corey Carlton, Iowa Department of Natural Resources conservation officer for Union and Ringgold counties, is leading the clinic in conjunction with volunteers with High Lakes Outdoor Alliance.

“This is going to be a free event for all youth under 18 years old,” Carlton said. “We are going to have the event every year, as long as the conditions are safe. We want to give any child the opportunity to experience ice fishing and help promote a healthy and positive life-long activity.”
