Nodaway Valley 85, SE Warren 29

LIBERTY CENTER — Nodaway Valley shot 62 percent from the field, and bolted to an early lead in scoring an 85-29 win over Southeast Warren here on Friday.

The Wolverines also shot 50 percent from behind the 3-point line for the game.

Nodaway Valley held a 36-5 lead after the first quarter and led 57-13 at halftime, as all 15 players saw playing time in the game.

TJ Bower and Alex Welsch each scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds. Bower added three assists, while shooting a perfect 8-of-8 from the field. Welsch finished with three steals and two blocks.

Brad Baudler scored 12 points with four assists, Dan Ehrsam added 11 points and Dean Frank just missed a double-double with 10 points, nine rebounds, six assists and five steals.

With the win, Nodaway Valley has clinched at least a share of the Pride of Iowa Conference title with one game remaining. The Wolverines hold a one-game lead on Interstate 35 for first place.

It marks the 12th conference title for the Wolverines in their 17 years as a member of the conference.

Nodaway Valley travels to Bedford on Tuesday.

Central Decatur 83, Corning 49

LEON — A 10-0 run right before the end of the first half helped Central Decatur pull away from Corning in an 83-49 loss to the Cardinals here on Friday.

Keegan Longabaugh finished with a double-double, scoring 20 points with 13 rebounds. Nick Spring added 10 points and six rebounds, while Clint Mullen and Ryan Carlson each scored six points. Quintin Wilcoxsin added four points, while Lane Peterson scored two and Jeffrey Walton added one point.

Longabaugh also finished with six assists, while Spring had two.
