LENOX – Balanced play carried Lenox to a 69-59 win over Martensdale-St. Marys here on Friday.
Four Tigers players scored in double figures, while a fifth player came up just one point short.
Todd Stoaks finished with a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Mason Peterson scored 18 points, seven rebounds, six assists and six steals. Caleb Lange and Spencer Brown each scored 14 points for the Tigers.
Frank Martinez scored nine points with four assists and four steals for Lenox, which improved to 11-8 overall and 8-7 in the Pride of Iowa Conference with the win.
“This was another good win,” co-head coach Jesse Cox said. “We led all the game, but it was always close. The effort was very good and balanced scoring was a key. Mason led us again and Todd’s first double-double was also important.”
Lamoni 73, Diagonal 40
DIAGONAL – Lamoni outscored Diagonal 24-10 in both the first and the fourth quarters to pull away with a 73-40 win over the Maroons here on Friday.
Heath Evans led the Maroons with 16 points and five rebounds, while Ryan Parrott added 11 points with five boards. Shad Haidsiak netted seven points with three rebounds, while Kenny Weaselhead scored four points and Blake Butler finished with two points and four assists. Freshman Jacob Taylor finished with three assists and three steals.
Glidden-Ralston 56, Orient-Macks. 22
GLIDDEN – After giving Glidden-Ralston a close game on Monday in Orient, the Orient-Macksburg Bulldogs couldn’t match that effort in a 56-22 loss here on Friday.
Jacob Caviness led the Bulldogs with nine points, while Jordan Thompson added five points. Chantz Davidson tallied four points, as Wyatt Hensley scored two points and Logan Holste and Seth White each pitched in one point.
Mormon Trail 69, Orient-Macks. 33
ORIENT – A slow start in the first quarter put Orient-Macksburg in a hole it couldn’t climb out of in a 69-33 loss to Mormon Trail here on Saturday.
Jacob Caviness paced the Bulldogs with 10 points, as Jordan Thompson and James Sullivan each added six points. Jesse Johnson scored four points and Chantz Davidson netted three points. Tyrell Stucker and Wyatt Hensley finished with two points each.
Pleasantville 51, Mount Ayr 44
PLEASANTVILLE – Mount Ayr held a 16-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Pleasantville battled back for a 51-44 win over the Raiders here on Friday.
Braydee Poore eclipsed the 1,000 point mark for his career in the game, leading the way with 16 points. Poore also grabbed six rebounds with three assists. Jake Still contributed 10 points with six assists and four rebounds, while John Triggs scored 10 points with nine rebounds.
Austin Quick finished with six points and Jed McCreary pitched in two points.
