Red Oak 70, Corning 41

RED OAK — A 25-11 first quarter hole proved to be too much for Corning to overcome in a 70-41 loss to Red Oak here on Saturday.

Keegan Longabaugh recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Red Raiders, while Lane Peterson scored nine points. Lance Swartz added five points with two assists. Trevor Sorensen, Ricky Almaguer, Nick Spring and Clint Mullen each scored two points.

Spring pulled down six rebounds and Carlson grabbed five.

“We did some things OK tonight,” head coach Pete Nett said. “The shot chart shows about 60 percent of our shots came from within five feet of the basket. We got nine offensive rebounds, which surely helped that shot chart percentage. We still need to do an even better job of taking care of the ball, and not giving up easy baskets from turnovers, but there were a lot of positive things I witnessed in the game.”
