Corning begins district play tonight at Lenox.

Brittany Malone had nine points, seven rebounds and three assists for East Union (4-16). Rochelle Means had six points and five rebounds. Kelsey Hoff had a pair of steals and a blocked shot.

Bedford 60, Nodaway Valley 39

BEDFORD — Fourth-ranked Bedford outscored Nodaway Valley 37-15 in the second half in posting a 60-39 victory Tuesday.

“We couldn’t slow down their runouts in the second half,” NV coach Tom Thompson said. “That, combined with 30 turnovers and poor offensive execution in the second half was the difference.”

Nodaway Valley led 24-23 at halftime. Kysa Downing had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Wolverines, now 13-8 overall and 11-5 in the POI. Sydney Reeves had eight points and seven rebounds. Josie Carter tallied seven points and Emily Huntington provided six points, including a pair of 3-pointers, and four rebounds.

Peyton Russell had 18 points to lead Bedford (20-1, 15-1). Savanna Thornton scored 15 points and Kayla Lindenmeyer tallied 10.
