Marjorie G. Davenport, 92, of Cottonwood, Ariz., died Feb. 3, 2013, at Cottonwood Village Assisted Living.

Marjorie Gwendolyn (Chandler) Davenport, daughter of Fannie (Rhoades) and Thomas Chandler, was born Sept. 16, 1920, in Creston.
Marjorie graduated in 1938 from Lenox High School and taught in area rural schools before she married John N. Davenport of Diagonal on May 18, 1940, at the United Methodist parsonage in Maryville, Mo.
They began farming near Kent and later farmed near Lenox, where they raised registered Polled Hereford cattle.
Upon retiring from farming, Marjorie and John lived in Creston before moving near a daughter and son-in-law in Dewitt.
In 2009, Marjorie and John moved with their Fischer daughter and son-in-law to Arizona.
Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Connie LaBarr, PhD., of Zion, Ill., and Vicki Fischer (husband Wayne) of Sedona, Ariz.; grandchildren, Neal Fischer of Los Angeles, Calif., and Kerstin (husband Joe) Ford of Zion, Ill.; and great-grandchildren, Denali and Ariana Ford.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Noel; and sister Velda Routh.
