Dorothy Baker, 90, of Afton, formerly of Creston, died Feb. 6, 2013, at Afton Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The Rev. Kenneth Halbur Jr. will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Creston. Open visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. today with a Christian Wake service at 6 p.m. and family present 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston. Dorothy Ellen Baker, daughter of Josephine (Keefer) and Arthur Monroe Crago, was born Jan. 24, 1923, in Platte Township, Union County.
Dorothy was a lifetime resident of Platte Township.
In 1939, Dorothy graduated from Creston High School and then attended Southwestern Community College.
On Sept. 12, 1940, Dorothy married Edmund Baker in Creston and was a farm wife.
Dorothy was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Council of Catholic Women.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Don) Ketter of Camano Island, Wash., and Rita (Gary) Michels of Fort Collins, Colo.; son Jim (Mary Lynn) Baker of Creston; grandchildren, Julie Ketter, Brenda Hartmeyer, Jean, Kelly and Robert Michels, Renea Burg and Jeffrey Baker; great-grandchildren, Rachel Hartmeyer, Madison, Nathan, Mallory, Jackson and Nancy Michels, and Abigail Burg; step-great-grandchildren, Julie and Issac Michels; sister Norma Jean Crago of Creston; brothers, James (Linda) Crago of Shannon City and Edward Crago of Creston; and sisters-in-law, Mary Jean Gebhardt of Van Meter, Coletta Bradley of Kent and Judy Crago of Ellerton.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband May 18, 1996; and brother Dean Crago.
