CORNING — Four area wrestlers achieved their goals of making it to the state wrestling tournament by finishing in the top two of their respective weight classes at Saturday’s Class 1A District 7 wrestling tournament here.

Mount Ayr’s Erik Freed (132), Nodaway Valley’s Kain Queck (152) and East Union’s Bryson Kinyon (170) each advanced as champions of their weight classes. Corning’s Zach Barton (182) advanced thanks to a come-from-behind victory in his wrestleback match against Panorama’s Colby Woodvine.
