Lafeyette Fredrick “L.F.” Hull, 82, of Greenfield, formerly of the Thayer area, died Feb. 8, 2013, at Greenfield Manor.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. today, Feb. 11, at Powers Funeral Home, 612 N. Dodge St., Afton. The Rev. Dwayne Henrichs will officiate. Burial will be in Ellston Cemetery with military rites by John B. Parks Afton VFW No. 8882. Visitation with family present will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. service time today at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family to be determined. Lafeyette Fredrick “L.F.” Hull, son of Mary (Perry) and Walter Hull, was born Jan. 13, 1931, in rural Union County.

Lafeyette attended rural school and graduated from the eighth grade.

On Dec. 2, 1950, Lafeyette married Priscilla Ann Fenton in Corydon.

After marriage, they settled in Mount Ayr, and he served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1952-1954. They later lived in Des Moines, Osceola and the Oak Hill area south of Thayer before moving into Thayer. Upon retirement, they settled in Mount Ayr.

Lafeyette is survived by his children, Lynette (husband Ed) Cose of Orient, Bill (wife Donna) Hull of Wichita, Kan., Kevin (wife Linda) Hull of Creston, Julia “Annie” (husband Larry) Gregory of Pine Bluffs, Wyo., Lori (husband Rick) McDonald of Ackworth and Gregory (wife Laurie) Hull of Creston; brothers, Lyle (wife Arnolene) Hull and Larry Hull, all of Mount Ayr; brother-in-law Ed Maine; sister-in-law Maggie Hull; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Lafeyette was preceded in death by his wife in 2009; parents; sons, Stephen and Ray Hull and father- and mother-in-law, Berl and Viola Fenton.
