According to a Creston Police report, during a traffic stop, an officer was informed Miller had a valid Ringgold County warrant. Upon taking Miller into custody, Miller consented to a vehicle search. During the search, a child's ATV in the rear of the truck was confirmed as stolen property from a burglary in Adams County and an officer located oxycodone, which Miller did not have a valid prescription to possess. An officer also witnessed Miller place a small container from his pocket into the rear of the vehicle. Upon investigation, it was determined the container had a white powder substance in it, which tested positive for methamphetamine.
