Police

James Arthur Franke, 18, of Afton was charged 3 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Clark and South Walnut streets on a Union County warrant for disorderly conduct.

According to a Creston Police report, Franke went to Casey's in Afton on Dec. 28 to buy cigarettes with an expired Iowa driver's license. After the store computer would not recognize his expired driver's license, Franke became angry and yelled obscenities and threatening remarks at the cashier and store manager.

Franke is being held on $300 bond.
