Tom Henderson introduced guest speaker Ann Coulter, president of the Board of Directors of Gibson Memorial Library, who presented the program about the proposals to remodel the Lincoln School building for the library. Informational booklets were handed out for members to utilize as Coulter reviewed the proposals. There were also several questions answered.

Braymen presided over the business meeting. Minutes of Jan. 8 and 15 meetings were approved with one correction.

Bob McCoy had been presented a 30-year membership chevron.

A thank you from Ardie Klemish of Adair was read about the Creston Lions’ donation to the leader dog school.

A letter from Lions Clubs International Foundation stated the club’s donation made Creston Lions eligible to name a Melvin Jones award winner.

Lion members Henderson, Rudy Ehm and Brown volunteered to help with the Bloodmobile Feb. 25.

Kindergarten round-up is scheduled in April. Lions members have a program called Sight First and will screen preschool children for vision conditions.

Charles Chester reported on plans for the spud supper scheduled 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 28 at the United Methodist Church. Members will meet at the church Feb. 27 to prepare the potatoes for baking. Tickets are available from Lions members at $6 each. The menu is baked potatoes, toppings, beverage and bars. Used eyeglasses and hearing aids can be donated at the spud supper. These are refurbished and used for people in need.

Lions members appreciate the support of the community in all their projects.

Chapter LG P.E.O.

Chapter LG P.E.O. met Feb. 5 at the Christian Church with Irene Francis as hostess and with Jan Nesbitt serving as co-hostess. Twelve members responded to roll call. One guest was present.

Kay Ritter reported on the omelet buffet. Members are asked to sign up for work details for March 5. This year it will be held at the United Methodist Church.

The yearbook committee reported they still need some hostesses and program leaders to volunteer for the coming year.

Rita Beran from Lenox gave a program about Zimbabwe. She has taught nursing there for many years. She had pictures of the hospital and the school of nursing where she taught.
