Kinyon, Queck advance in 1A openers
DES MOINES — East Union’s Bryson Kinyon and Kain Queck of Nodaway Valley wrestle in the Class 1A quarterfinals today after advancing with victories Thursday in the State Wrestling Tournament at Wells Fargo Arena.
A third area Class 1A wrestler, Corning 182-pounder Zach Barton, stayed in contention in the consolation bracket with a victory Thursday morning after a first-round defeat.
Mount Ayr’s lone entry, Erik Freed, was eliminated Thusday with two losses in the 132-pound weight class.
