Robert ‘Bob’ Oetken Apache Junction, Ariz.

Robert “Bob” Oetken, 72, of Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of Clarinda, died Jan. 30, 2013, at his home in Apache Junction, Ariz.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m., today, Feb. 15, at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda. Visitation with family present will be was 6 to 7 p.m. today prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Operation Blessing or Page County Animal Shelter. Online condolences may be left at www.ritchiefuneralhome.com.

Robert Roy Oetken, son of Leora (Ruhga) and Roy Oetken, was born Aug. 24, 1940, at the family home in Cook, Neb.

Bob grew up in the Cook, Neb., area and graduated from Cook Community High School in 1958.

On March 12, 1977, Bob married Kathy Ann Engstrand.

Bob worked for Andrew Trailer Sales for 32 years, flying planes and repairing trailers.

In 1994, he opened Bob’s Trailer Service in Clarinda. He retired in 2006 and moved to Apache Junction, Ariz.

Bob is survived by his wife Kathy Oetken of Apache Junction, Ariz.; son, William “Bill” (wife Penny) Oetken of Creston; daughters, Rebecca “Becky” Myers and Kendra (husband Craig) Clark, all of Clarinda; grandchildren, Amanda, Morgan and Bailey Oetken, Jennifer Latham, Molly Myers and Cale and Lexi Clark; great-grandchildren, Madilynn and Lillian Moyer; brother Tom (wife Frances) Oetken Sr. of Glenwood; sister Lynda (husband Bob) Ferguson of Nebraska City, Neb.; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his father; mother and stepfather, Leora and Floyd Davis; and parents-in-law, Martin and Sharlene Engstrand.
