GRMC will have same tax asking for 11th consecutive year
For the 11th consecutive year, Greater Regional Medical Center will not raise taxes in Union County. GRMC approved its 2013-14 budget Monday evening and will have a tax asking of $1.14 million.
“I’ve said as long as I’m CEO at Greater Regional, we won’t raise taxes in Union County,” CEO Monte Neitzel said. “We’ve held true to that. I think we pay enough taxes in Union County.”
GRMC has asked for $1.14 million the past 11 years. But Matt McCutchan, chief financial officer, noted Monday the law states GRMC could tax for up to $8.2 million.
