Snowstorm forces closures in Creston area

School closings: Commuters steer clear of Uptown as Creston gets a hearty helping of snow this morning. School closures reported as of noon today are: Murray, Diagonal, Nodaway Valley (12:30 p.m.) Mount Ayr (Noon), Corning (11:30 a.m.), Orient-Macksburg (12:30), Creston (12:15), Southwestern Community College (Noon) and East Union (10 a.m.).

Snow is forecasted through midnight with a chance of light snow after midnight with new snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches.

GRMC closing early: Greater Regional Medical Clinics, including Family Practice; Internal Medicine; Surgical Specialists and Specialty Physicians Clinic will be closing by 3 p.m. today (Tuesday). Patient appointments are being rescheduled. New Life Family Medicine Clinic is also closing by 3 p.m. today. Regular start time is planned for tomorrow at all physician clinics.

Patients will be contacted to reschedule and/or are encouraged to call the physician’s office directly regarding any rescheduling preferences if missed a call from the clinic.

CNA delivery: Because of the weather conditions, Creston News Advertiser carriers will deliver where possible today. If you do not get a paper today, your Tuesday paper will be delivered with your Wednesday paper.
