Law enforcement reports 13 accidents Tuesday in Union County

As snowfall continues to create slick road conditions and poor visibility, emergency personnel urge motorists to drive with caution.

As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, local police, deputies, firefighters and medical personnel had been called to numerous accidents and reports of vehicles sliding off the roadways throughout Union County.
A total of 13 accidents had been reported in Union County Tuesday — eight of which occured within Creston city limits.

The largest accident occured outside Union County, though. A two-car, one-injury accident occurred 4:04 p.m. Tuesday near SIRWA west of Creston on Highway 34 (See photo above) The accident stalled traffic in both directions on Highway 34 for more than 25 minutes as emergency crews loaded one patient located in the SIRWA building.
