Murray places four on first-team All-Bluegrass

Murray’s Kate Patton was named an unanimous selection to the first-team All-Bluegrass Conference girls basketball team, while Murray seniors Austin Halls and Cody Scroggie were unanimous selections for the boys first team.

Junior Sam Rockhold also earned first team honors on the boys team.

Girls

Patton, a junior, led the Mustangs with 17.3 points per game, which was fourth-best in the conference, and 136 steals, tops in the Bluegrass Conference. Patton also grabbed 3.6 rebounds per game.

Senior Ashley Rider was named to the second team after averaging 3.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game to go with a team-high 70 assists and 55 steals.

Junior Megan Oswald also made the second team, averaging 6.7 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game. Oswald also finished the season with 30 assists and 26 steals.

Sophomore Deena Snyder received honorable mention, averaging 4.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.

Boys

Halls and Scroggie both earned unanimous selections to the first-team all-conference. Halls averaged 24.0 points per game to go with 4.7 rebounds per game. Halls accumulated 189 assists and 127 steals in a stellar senior campaign.

Scroggie, meanwhile, averaged 15.2 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game. Scroggie finished with 89 assists and 68 steals.

Rockhold also earned first-team honors after leading the Mustangs in rebounding at 5.9 boards per game. He also averaged 8.3 points per game.

Senior Eddie Otto was named to the second team and senior Matt Johnston was named honorable mention.

Diagonal freshman Jacob Taylor earned second-team honors after leading the Maroons in scoring with 9.1 points per game. He also averaged 4.9 rebounds per game to go with 69 assists, 83 steals and 26 blocked shots.

Diagonal junior Ryan Parrott was named to the honorable mention team.
