Marian L. Wallace, 88, of Craig, Colo., formerly of Macksburg, died Feb. 25, 2013, at Sandrock Ridge Care Center in Craig, Colo.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 4, at the United Methodist Church in Macksburg. The Rev. Ben Carter Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Moon Cemetery in Macksburg. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane South, Belmond, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given in Marian L. Wallace’s name to Sandrock Ridge Nursing Home, Craig, Colo.
Marian Lorene Wallace, daughter of Bertha (Bennett) and Harmon McKinzie, was born near Mackburg.
Marian grew up on the family farm and attended school at Macksburg Community School.
Marian married Melvin Dwayne Wallace. The couple made their home in Macksburg. They also lived in Denver, Colo., for several years.
The couple owned and operated a restaurant business, first in Denver and then in Macksburg.
Marian moved to Craig, Colo., in 1990.
Marian belonged to Rebekah Lodge, Women’s Relief Corps and United Methodist Church, all in Macksburg.
Marian is survived by her children, Louise Peckham of Indianola, Dwayne (Karen) of Manson and Charlotte (Terry) Brown of Creston; son-in-law Bill Hesselgren of Craig, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Mary Lou McKeon of Florida.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Pat Hesselgren in 2012 and a brother.
