Paint Creston program in fourth year

Program offers free paint to homeowners; applications are available at Creston Chamber of Commerce

A little paint can make a dramatic difference.

That’s the belief of the Paint Creston Committee that again plans to give a minimum of three local homeowners the opportunity to receive free paint to paint the outside of their home. This is the fourth year the committee has offered the program.

“I didn’t realize how expensive paint was until we started this project in 2007,” said Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ellen Gerharz. “A gallon is anywhere from $30 and up, so if you’re dealing with a two-story house you can spend almost $1,000 on paint.
