Koets pursues passion, resigns from city council

After Tuesday’s Creston city council meeting, at-large councilwoman Terri Koets teared up as she read from a letter announcing her resignation from the council.

Koets who took office January 2006 and was re-elected in 2009, proposed her husband Dave Koets fill her position for the remainder of her term, which expires Dec. 31.

“He loves the park and rec board as much as I do,” Koets said about her husband. “He would be great at it.”
