Girls banquet

The Creston girls basketball banquet will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 12. Families are asked to bring a main dish and a salad or dessert.

Beverages, cups, paper plates and table service will be provided.

300 game

Eric McClure rolled a 300 game for The Windrow in the Union League Feb. 28 at Panther Lanes. It was part of a 658 series for McClure.

It was the second 300 game of the season at Panther Lanes. Kenny Holle had the first one on Feb. 25 for Hi-Crest in the Classic League.

3-on-3

DIAGONAL — Southern Edge basketball will host its spring 3-on-3 tournament on April 13 at the Diagonal High School gym.

More than 30 teams participated in last year’s tournament and coordinator Gina Knox said age divisions are again set up for third-fourth grade, fifth-sixth grade, seventh-eighth grade, high school, adult male and female teams. A coed division will be available, pending interest.

Entry fee is $20 per team with teams limited to four members. First games will be played at 8 a.m.

Tourney TV

Live coverage is planned of semifinal and championship games at the Boys State Basketball Tournament through Saturday.

KCWI 23 will telecast all championship games Friday and Saturday. The station is channel 9 (809 HD) on local Mediacom cable systems.

Semifinal round games are shown on KDMI, channel 19 and the championship games on KCWI, channel 23 in all classes. KDMI is channel 20 on local Mediacom cable systems.

Mediacom sports

Mediacom has announced tape-delayed television coverage of the Boys State Basketball Tournament on MC22 next week.

On Tuesday, March 12, the 1A tape-delayed championship game will be televised at 7:30 p.m. That game is followed by Class 2A championship at 9 p.m.; Class 3A championship at 10:30 p.m. and Class 4A championship at midnight.
