Kevin James Gibbens, 37, 212 N. Maple St., was charged 8:15 a.m. Friday on a Union County warrant for first-degree theft.
According to a Creston Police report, a shipment arrived at Bunn-O-Matic by truck freight on Feb. 20. An officer was notified by the retailer the shipment was purchased by fraudulent means and the stolen property was valued at $35,585.58. Statements and evidence showed Gibbens had signed for receiving the shipment of 15 items and had knowledge of the arrival and value of the stolen property. Gibbens worked with another individual to keep the arrival and attempted departure concealed from anyone else. Gibbens acknowledged it was extremely unusual, against company policy and should have reasonably known the property to be obtained by false means. Gibbens attempted to conceal the items and help dispose of them by arranging transportation of the stolen property from Bunn-O-Matic.
Gibbens is currently being held on $10,000 bond.

Janeen Frey, 44, 810 W. Adams St., and Jeremiah Lee Parcher, 36, 502 W. Summit St., were charged 10 a.m. Monday with possession of paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamines.
According to a Creston Police report, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Frey in the 200 block of North Cherry Street for speeding and failure to yield at a school crossing. An officer identified the driver as Frey and the passenger as Parcher. Frey was found to be in possession of two glass pipes and a small bag of a white, crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine. Frey’s vehicle was impounded for failure to prove insurance, and she was detained for operating while under the influence and drug recognition expert testing. Parcher was told he was free to leave. He asked to retrieve his black bag from the car. When the officer opened the door, he observed a silver marijuana pipe, which Parcher claimed was his. Evidence also indicates Parcher was in possession of another pipe, illegal prescription drugs, marijuana and digital scales with methamphetamine present.
Frey and Parcher were released on $1,000 bond each.
