Janet Meyers-La Plante Green Bay, Wis.

Janet Meyers-La Plante, 50, of Green Bay, Wis., died March 21, 2013.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, Wis. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

Janet Meyers-La Plante, daughter of Lucile (Boswell) and Clyde R. Jensen, was born Oct. 3, 1962, in Creston.

Janet was a graduate of Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Mo., and earned a master’s degree in library science from the University of Iowa.

After graduation, Janet ran Shenandoah Library. She later moved to Des Moines and married Ken Meyers. She continued to work at the library in Des Moines.

After Ken’s death, Janet met and later married Bruce La Plante. Bruce preceded her in death in 2008.

Janet taught computer courses and had been employed at the College of the Menominee Nation. More recently, she started working at Globe University in Appleton, Wis.

Janet is survived by her sons, Logan Meyers and Sean La Plante; stepchildren, Jessica (Paul) Wikgren of Green Bay, Wis., and Zack (Tasha) Meyers of Florida; two step-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alan (Ellen) Jensen of Afton and Brian (Nadine) Jensen of Parkersburg; four nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and -nephews.

In addition to her husbands, Janet was preceded in death by her son Austin Meyers and parents.
