COUNCIL BLUFFS — The Large Schools swept the Small Schools Sunday at SWI Classic XVII at Iowa Western’s Kanesville Area, although both games were close in the final minutes.

The Large boys earned a 95-85 victory by outscoring the Small 17-7 over the final 3:10. Briar Evans and Colby Taylor of Creston scored 15 and 13 points, respectively, for the winners. A 3-pointer by Taylor, who also had 10 rebounds, with 48 seconds remaining put it out of reach.

Dalton Franken of Atlantic and Ricky Williams of Riverside were the game’s MVPs.

The Large held of the Small for a 70-67 win in the girls game.

Aubrey Norville of Lewis Central and Kaylee Blake of IKM-Manning earned the girls awards.

Brianna Maitlin of Creston was selected for the Large team, but she was unable to attend.
