Beverly Ann Shelley, 73, of Creston died March 20, 2013, in Mission, Texas, after a short illness.
Cremation was chosen, and a memorial sevice will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Walnut Creek Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1385 Buffalo Road, Des Moines. Ric Brown Family Funeral Home, Mission, Texas, is in charge of arrangements.
Beverly Ann Shelley, daughter of Minor and Naomi Peckham, was born Sept. 5, 1939, in Fontanelle.
They later moved to Greenfield, where she graduated from high school in 1957.
After graduation, Beverly moved to Creston, where she worked and pursued her ministry.
On April 26, 1958, Beverly married Ronald L. Shelley of Guthrie Center, where they then resided.
They later moved to the Corning area and then to Creston.
After retirement, they wintered in Mission, Texas.
Beverly was a local bus driver in the Creston School District for 25 years. More recently, she could be seen alongside her husband selling their locally-harvested honey at various locations around Creston.
Beverly was a a life-long member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She and Ron spent 10 years in the Spanish-language ministry in Des Moines.
Beverly is survived by her husband Ronald Shelley of Creston; son Timothy (wife Debbie) Shelley of Creston; daughter Diana (husband Dan) Curtis of Creston; brother Jim (wife Janis) Peckham of Des Moines; sisters, Janice Parker, Joyce Chapman and Linda (husband Steve) Johnson, all of Creston; sister-in-law Beverly (husband Ron) Scott of Guthrie Center and grandchildren, Cara (husband Jason) Truit of Ankeny, Michael and Shaun Shelley, both of Nevada, Austin, Rachel, Olivia and Gordon Curtis, all of Creston, and Gabriel (wife Emileah) Curtis of Des Moines; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; father- and mother-in-law Max and Helen Shelley and daughter-in-law Shawnna Curtis of Creston.
